Medicine program at University of Debrecen Medical School

The Debrecen Medical University curriculum ensures a smooth transition from basic sciences to specialized fields, preparing you to excel in the medical profession.

Year 1: As a first year student you learn behavioral sciences, medical chemistry, and core biology. You'll also learn communication skills and Hungarian language basics.
Year 2: You deepen your knowledge on anatomy, histology, embryology, biochemistry, physiology, and neurobiology knowledge.
Year 3: It introduces oncology, surgical techniques, immunology, internal medicine, medical microbiology, and psychology.
Year 4: It emphasizes practical medical areas: internal medicine, surgery, pharmacology, preventive medicine, public health, and radiology.
Year 5: It broadens to dermatology, emergency and family medicine, forensic medicine, clinical oncology, and anesthesiology.
Year 6: Here you revisit core areas like internal medicine and surgery, featuring a hands-on internship in multiple departments.

Admission Process for Debrecen University in Hungary

Start your medical career at the University of Debrecen, Hungary. Deadlines for applications: 15th June for September intake, 1st November for January/February. The application fee is 150 USD.

Entrance Exam Pécs

Begin your journey in medical studies with the University of Debrecen's entrance exam. The fee for this procedure is 350$. The exam has 2 components:

Written Test:
- Features multiple-choice questions, definitions, and calculations.
- Subjects: Biology (mandatory for all applicants) and either Chemistry or Physics based on the applicant's choice.
- Duration: Each written test lasts for 50 minutes.
Oral Exam:
- Biology
- Either Physics or Chemistry.

The exam can result in 3 outcomes:

Admission to the first year.
Admission to the Basic Medicine Course (a preparatory program).
Rejection.

So, thorough preparation is highly recommended!
