Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, usually shortened to UPJŠ, is one of Slovakia's main medical-university options for international students. Its Faculty of Medicine offers English-taught General Medicine and Dental Medicine in Košice.

Admissions overview

UPJŠ uses the AiS2 e-application system, but the official instructions also require the filled, signed and printed application plus supporting documents to reach the Faculty of Medicine by the stated deadline. For applicants without a representative, the official deadlines are 3 June 2026 for the 17 June exam and 29 July 2026 for the 12 August exam.

Graduates should still check licensing, language and residency rules in the country where they plan to practise.

Košice is Slovakia's second-largest city and a more compact student environment than Bratislava.
